Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty … I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever.’
—John 6:35, 51
In baptism, our fellowship with Jesus Christ is established forever, and in the eucharist, that fellowship is nourished, sustained and deepened. We are given a taste of the new life that is ours in the kingdom of heaven, and are invited to participate in the eternal love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
